The Bittersweet Paradox

...curly. And recently, I've been letting it go free in it's wild, untamed form. To be honest, I don't really like it that well. It's a loose cannon. Sometimes it works; sometimes, it most definitely does not.

However, since letting my hair go wild, I've learned something new and interesting about the members of the male gender. They really like curly hair. No joke, just about every guy I know has commented on it in some way, some more suggestively than others. Imagine the title of the post said in a man-whoreish, husky tone of voice accompanied by a wink in my direction. That's an example of the treatment I've been getting lately.

It's a conundrum to me. I don't quite get it. So, I make a call to the males out there reading my blog. What's the dealio? Would you like to share why it is that you all find curly hair so fetching?...really, I'm curious.

Uhm seriousally it just looks different. I had a friend in high school who had curly hair,but she straitened it and it was a big deal...

Though you have ringlets...and well ringlets are ringlets...

I'm not a guy, obviously, but I agree with Chigbee's point. I think it's just that you've made a dramatic change, which I happen to love btw, but I know I'm a girl so I don't count. Anyways, I don't think it's so much that you have curly hair, as much as you used to have straight and now have curly.

I think it's the change that's getting you attention. My hair is super-curly (you can see a picture of its craziness in my blog), but I straightened it recently and everyone fawned over me. I've never gotten the impression that men particular like my curly hair, but then I haven't exactly taken a poll either.

I think you should just enjoy the attention. ;)

thesciencegirl--I went to your blog and your curls are FABULOUS! They are very tight and well organized. Sadly, the same cannot be said of mine, but I am also still learning how to manage mine.

I moreso think it's just the change it represents to your normally straight, yet still attractive, hair.

thanks for the complement, but they're really much more crazy than your realize... that was a good day; they were behaving for my birthday. haha. Anyway, good luck taming your curls. :)
